Hong Kong 2014 Public Holidays Released

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has released its official list of 2014 calendar year public holidays to be observed in Hong Kong, in accordance with the Employment Ordinance and General Holidays Ordinance as well as recent amendments thereto.

As was the case last year (2012-04-29), the aforementioned list of 2014 calendar year public holidays to be observed in Hong Kong is in line with the 2011 changes in the legislation governing non-working bank holidays and public holidays in the Hong Kong SAR (2011-12-26, 2011-12-15, and 2011-11-10), which stemmed from the review of day in lieu public holidays, announced 3 years ago (2010-02-15) by Hong Kong's Chief Executive, Donald Tsang.

Days in lieu are re-stipulated, as was the case on past occasions (2012-04-29, 2011-05-06, 2010-05-07, 2009-04-25, 2007-04-13, 2006-04-07, 2005-04-15, 2004-04-02, 2003-04-04, 2002-04-12, 2001-04-20, 2000-05-05 and 1999-05-07).
