The Deputy Chief Minister of the government of Malaysia's State of Kelantan, Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah, has declared Sunday, June 30, 2013, as another one-off state public holiday in conjunction with the upcoming Malaysian FA Cup final.

Football and sports-related state public holidays are not uncommon in Malaysia (2012-10-15, 2012-07-18, 2012-05-14, 2011-11-21, 2011-06-13, 2011-06-11, 2010-12-30, 2010-12-29, 2010-10-30, 2009-11-04,...). Note that the aforementioned June 30, 2013, one-off state public holiday is on the day after the FA Cup Final, "to return home safely after watching the FA Cup final the previous night".

The reason for the need to declare a Sunday, non-working, public holiday, is that in 3 of Malaysia's States (Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu), the weekly day of rest is Friday, and that, as such, Sundays are regular working days (2005-06-21).
