The Ministry of Labor, Employment and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic has announced that May 1, 6 and 9, 2013, had been declared official non-working public holidays in Kyrgyzstan.

As was the case last year (2012-04-17), the aforementioned government announcement states that the non-working public holidays in May would be May 1 (Labour Day), May 6 (the day after Constitution Day) and May 9 (Victory Day).

There had been rumours that Friday, May 10, 2013, would be declared an official non-working public holiday in Kyrgyzstan, as was recently done in Kazakhstan (2013-04-18), as having an extra bridge non-working public holiday compensated by declaring a weekend day as a regular working day is common in Kyrgyzstan (2011-04-25, 2011-02-28, 2010-10-07, 2010-08-25, 2010-02-15, 2009-12-11, 2008-12-19 and 2007-12-27).
