The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has declared Thursday, July 11, 2013, as a bank holiday throughout Pakistan on account of the first Ramzan-ul-Mubarak 1434 AH.

As per custom, under similar circumstances (2013-06-28, 2013-04-29, 2013-02-02, 2013-01-23, 2012-12-31, 2012-11-06, 2012-07-18 and 2012-06-25), the aforementioned announcement states that all banks/DFIs/MFBs will remain closed for public dealing on that date.

The aforementioned date of Thursday, July 11, 2013, as a bank holiday throughout Pakistan on account of the first Ramzan-ul-Mubarak, is a day later than the date contained in the list of expected dates for non-working public holidays and optional holidays for the calendar year 2013 in Pakistan, as released by Pakistan's Ministry of Interior, in consultation with Karachi's Meteorological Department, earlier this year (2013-02-04).
