The Philippines Government has issued an official statement denying rumours that October 31, 2013, had been declared as an additional non-working public holiday in the Philippines.
In its statement, Malacañang referred to Proclamation No. 459, s. 2012, signed by President Benigno Aquino III, last year (2012-09-01), and which lists the special and regular non-working public holidays in the Philippines for the calendar year 2013.
Apparently, the internet rumours on the social media came from an old Yahoo post about the declaration of October 31 as an additional public holiday, 2 years ago (2011-10-10).
