The Russian Ministry of Labor, in response to the request of the Government of the Russian Federation, has released its annual "Government Decree of 28.05.2013 N 444 On the transfer of public holidays in 2014", which specifies a list of official public holidays and bridge holidays in Russia for the upcoming calendar year 2014.
As per the aforementioned "Government Resolution On The Transfer Of Public Holidays In 2014" (Decree of May 28, 2013, No.444), and as was done in previous years (2012-10-17, 2012-09-29, 2011-07-21, 2010-08-24, 2009-11-10, 2008-11-28, 2007-08-11, 2007-01-06, 2006-11-11, and 2005-12-28), whenever a fixed-date annual public holiday falls on a Tuesday or Thursday, the preceding Monday or Friday is usually declared a one-off bridge public holiday, to be compensated by declaring a nearby Saturday to be a regular working day.
For the second year, the aforementioned decree moves the expected February 24 day in lieu public holiday, to the beginning of November, 2014.
