The Chief Minister of the Government of Malaysia's state of Sarawak, Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, has announced that Monday and Tuesday, June 3 and 4, 2013, had once again been declared additional non-working public holidays throughout Malaysia's Sarawak State.
The aforementioned announcement thus amends the State Public Holiday Schedule 2013, released (2012-08-01) and later amended (2012-11-13) last year, by adding 2 day in lieu public holidays to compensate the fact that the first day of the 2013 Hari Gawai (Harvest Festival) state public holiday falls on the same date as the Birthday of SPB Yang di-Pertuan Agong, while the second day of the 2013 Hari Gawai (Harvest Festival) state public holiday falls on a Sunday.
Last year (2012-05-17), under slightly similar circumstances, the same Chief Minister of the Government of Malaysia's state of Sarawak, Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, had announced that Monday, June 4, 2012, would be an additional non-working public holiday throughout Malaysia's Sarawak State.
