Spain 2014 National Public Holidays Announced

Following the recent gazetting of the 2014 public holidays in the last of Spain's autonomous regions, the national government of Spain has finally gazetted the list of official national non-working public holidays (calendario laboral) in Spain for the upcoming calendar year 2014.

The aforementioned "Resolución de 8 de noviembre de 2013, de la Dirección General de Empleo, por la que se publica la relación de fiestas laborales para el año 2014" (BOE-A-2013-12147, Miércoles 20 de noviembre de 2013, Sec. I., Pág. 92701) of nationwide 2014 non-working public holidays in Spain is supplemented by 2 additional non-working public holidays declared by each of Spain's autonomous regions (2013-11-13, 2013-10-18, 2013-10-12,..., 2013-07-14, 2013-07-09, 2013-06-21), as well as 2 municipal non-working public holidays for each municipality.

None of the fixed date national public holidays of Spain in 2014 will be moved, despite recent indications (2013-11-18) that some mid-week public holidays might be moved to adjoin a nearby weekend, in the list of 2014 national non-working public holidays (calendario laboral)as had been raised shortly after the current government was elected (2012-01-12), though not followed by any immediate action. It had later (2012-11-03) been slated for implementation for 2014.
