Sri Lankan 2014 Public Holidays Announced

Sri Lanka's Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs has published in the "Gazette of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka", the official list of Sri Lankan public holidays, and full Moon Poya days, for the upcoming calendar year 2014.

As usual, and despite being titled "Bank Holidays, Public Holidays and Full Moon Poya Days 2014", the aforementioned document does not list any bank holidays; as these are usually declared separately from public holidays and full Moon Poya days (2013-07-05, 2012-06-11, 2012-10-16, 2011-10-10, 2011-08-31, 2010-07-21, 2010-07-12 and 2009-07-06).

Of note the announced date for the 2014 Deepavali in Sri Lanka is at odds with the date announced a couple of months ago by the government of Singapore (2013-04-10), whose MOM site states that "tentatively" Deepavali will fall on, October 23 in 2014, which is at odds with our forecast of Wednesday, October 22, 2014.
