The government of Suriname has released the list of its expected public holidays dates for the calendar year 2013.

The aforementioned list confirms, once again (2012-01-31), for 2013 the addition of new religious and ethnic public holidays announced in previous years (2010-11-24, 2010-11-13, 2010-10-30, and 2007-08-08).

Note that the date announced for the 2013 Divali public holiday in Suriname is obviously wrong.

In addition, a one-off ethnic public holiday has been announced for 2013 to commemorate the 140th anniversary of the arrival of Indian laborers ("In verband met herdenking 140 jaar Hindostaanse Immigratie is in 2013, woensdag 5 juni eenmalig uitgeroepen tot nationale vrije dag").
