The Algerian public sector ministry (Direction Générale de la Fonction Publique) has announced that Saturday and Sunday, October 4 and 5, 2014, had been declared as the dates of the upcoming Aïd El Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) annual non-working public holidays in Algeria.
As usual (2014-07-27, 2013-11-13, 2012-11-14, 2012-08-17 and 2011-02-13), the aforementioned announcement that Saturday and Sunday, October 4 and 5, 2014, had been declared as the dates of the upcoming Aïd El Adha ("les journées du samedi 4 et dimanche 5 octobre chômées et payées"), follows an earlier communiqué by the Algerian Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments (Ministère des Affaires religieuses et du Wakf).
Recall that, 5 years ago (2009-07-24), the Algerian government changed its weekends from Thursday/Friday to the "mixed" or "semi-universal" Friday/Saturday weekend.
