The Vice-Chairman and Religious Affairs Secretary of the Islamic Foundation of Bangladesh's National Moon Sighting Committee and Religious Affairs Secretary, Kazi Habibul Awal, has announced that the moon of the month of Rabiul Awal Hijri 1435 had been sighted in Bangladesh's sky yesterday and therefore that the annual Eid-e-Miladunnabi (birthday of the Prophet Mohammad), would be observed on Tuesday, January 14, 2014.
The aforementioned announcement, is in line with the DFIM Circular Letter No. 10 : Regarding Holidays of 2014 of the Ministry of Public Administration, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh (2013-11-15) which announced the official list of non-working public holidays in Bangladesh for the calendar year 2014.
