The Chairman of Bangladesh's National Moon Sighting Committee, Motiur Rahman, has announced that the moon of the month of Rabiul Awal Hijri 1436 had been sighted in Bangladesh's sky yesterday and therefore that the annual Eid-e-Miladunnabi (birthday of the Prophet Mohammad), would be observed on Sunday, January 4, 2015.

The aforementioned announcement, is in line with the Notice No: 05.00.0000.173.08.005.12-246 of the Ministry of Public Administration, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh (2014-11-03) which announced the official list of non-working public holidays in Bangladesh for the calendar year 2015.
