Ecuador's Ministry of Tourism (Ministerio de Turismo) has issued a communique which expands on the previously-announced list of non-working public holidays in Ecuador for the calendar year 2014.
The aforementioned announcements is in line with the Decreto 1162, which was released (2012-05-04), then amended (2013-01-21), by Ecuador's Presidency, and which specifies the framework for determining the dates of Ecuador's non-working public holidays for the calendar years 2013, 2014, and 2015.
However, contrary to what happened last year (2013-01-21), but in line with other yearly announcements of the dates for the annual non-working Carnival public holidays in Ecuador (2012-02-11 and 2010-02-18), today's communique specifies that, in 2014, Carnival Monday and Tuesday would be non-working public holidays, to be recuperated by 2 subsequent working Saturdays.
