The Governor of Guam, Eddie Calvo, has once again declared the Friday after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 28, 2014, as a one-off GovGuam public sector holiday in Guam.
As per the aforementioned Executive Order, the was granted to Guam public servants "to rest and re-energize" and is in addition to the official list of non-working public holidays in Guam for the calendar year 2014 as released earlier this year (2014-01-10).
A few years ago (2011-11-22), the Governor of Guam, Eddie Calvo, had similarly declared Friday, November 25, 2011, the day after Thanksgiving, as a GovGuam public sector holiday granted for public servants to "Rest, take a break and re-energize" after a difficult year marked by "suspension of pay raises and increments".
