Jordanian Prime Minister, Abdullah Ensour, has announced that the upcoming annual non-working public holiday in Jordan for Prophet Mohammad's Birthday had been moved from Monday, January 13, to Sunday, January 12, 2014.
The Jordanian government often (2013-01-17, 2012-04-24 and 2006-04-25), though not systematically (2010-04-27 and 2005-04-25), moves mid-week public holidays to the nearest weekend, in particular the Labour Day and Prophet's Birthday non-working public holidays.
Note that the aforementioned announcement is the second announcement from the Jordanian Prime Minister, Abdullah Ensour, on the topic of the upcoming annual non-working public holiday in Jordan for Prophet Mohammad's Birthday. Earlier in the day, a communiqué had been released stating that the "holiday marking Prophet Mohammad's birthday[would be]on Monday, January 13, 2014".
