Libya's government has finally announced that Wednesday, June 25, 2014, had been declared a one-off non-working public holiday on account of that date's national parliamentary election.
Late last month (2014-05-25), when Libya's government announced that it would hold a national parliamentary election on June 25, we had stated that we expected the date of the upcoming Libyan elections, on June 25, 2014, to be declared as a one-off non-working public holiday in Libya, as Libya's government had already declared Thursday, February 20, 2014, as a one-off non-working public holiday throughout Libya to allow citizens time to cast their vote for the constitutional drafting committee (2014-02-19).
