The State Secretary of Malaysia's State of Johor, State Secretary Datuk Ismail Karim, after consultation with the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, has declared that Thursday, June 25, 2014, would be a one-off non-working public holiday in Malaysia's State of Johor on account of the same day's JDT winning of the Super League football Championship.

Recall that, last fall (2013-11-23), the Sultan of Malaysia's State of Johor, Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, had decreed that, beginning on January 1st, 2014, the Malaysian State of Johor would revert to a Friday/Saturday weekend, meaning that tomorrow's state non-working public holiday will conveniently extend the upcoming weekend in Malaysia's State of Johor.

Football and sports-related state public holidays are not uncommon in Malaysia (2013-11-01, 2013-10-30, 2013-06-13, 2012-10-15, 2012-07-18, 2012-05-14, 2011-11-21, 2011-06-13, 2011-06-11, 2010-12-30, 2010-12-29, 2010-10-30, 2009-11-04,...).
