Nepal Declares 2 SAARC Public Holidays

The Deputy Prime and Home Minister of the government of Nepal, Bamdev Gautam, has announced that Nepal's Home Ministry had approved the declaration of November 26 and 27, 2014, as one-off non-working public holidays in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal on account of the upcoming SAARC summit in Kathmandu.

Late last month (2014-10-29), the government of Nepal had announced that it was considering the declaration of November 26 and 27, 2014, as one-off non-working public holidays in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal on account of the upcoming SAARC summit in Kathmandu.

These November 26 and 27, 2014, non-working public holidays in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal, will be in addition to the gazetted list of official non-working public holidays in Nepal for the Nepalese year BS 2071 (April 2014-April 2015), released last March (2014-03-02).
