The government of Nepal has announced that Sunday, March 16, 2014, had been declared as a non-working public holiday in the capital, Kathmandu, and other parts of the hilly regions, on account of the upcoming annual Holi festival.

As usual (25-Mar-2013 and 22-Mar-2013), the 2014 Holi festival and associated non-working public holiday will be observed the following day, Monday, March 17, 2014, in the Tarai region of Nepal.

The aforementioned announcement is in line with last year's (24-Apr-2013) gazetted list of official non-working public holidays in Nepal for the Nepalese year 2070 (mid-April 2013 to mid-April 2014).
