Pakistan 2014 Prophet's Birthday Public Holiday

The head of Pakistan's Ruat-e-Hilal (moon sighting) committee, Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, has announced that the upcoming month of Rabi-ul-Awaal would begin on January 3, meaning that the upcoming annual non-working public holiday in Pakistan marking the birthday of the Prophet will be on Tuesday, January 14, 2014.

Note that the usual (04-Feb-2013, 15-Jan-2012, 03-Jan-2011 and 24-Dec-2009) announcement by Pakistan's Ministry of Interior, in consultation with Karachi's Meteorological Department, of the expected dates for public and optional holidays for the coming calendar year, have not yet been released for 2014.
