Pakistan's Ministry of Interior, in consultation with Karachi's Meteorological Department, has issued its annual list of the expected dates for non-working public holidays and optional holidays for the calendar year 2014 in Pakistan.

The aforementioned announcement continues, for the 5th year (2013-02-04, 2012-01-15, 2011-01-03 and 2009-12-24), the reduction of the Eid al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) Muslim public holiday from 4 days (2009-11-20 and 2008-12-31) to the 2-day public holidays that was the norm before 2008 (2006-12-16).

Note that as the aforementioned announcement comes later than usual, there have already been some ad hoc changes to the 2014 public holidays in Pakistan (2014-01-03).
