The government of Suriname has amended its recently-released list of non-working public holidays in Suriname for the calendar year 2015.
The aforementioned amended list of non-working public holidays in Suriname for the calendar year 2015, adds, for a second year (2014-01-15), Chinese Lunar New Year as a one-off ethnic public holiday in Suriname, in addition to many new religious and ethnic public holidays announced in recent years (2010-11-24, 2010-11-13, 2010-10-30, and 2007-08-08).
The announced decision to declare Chinese Lunar New Year as a one-off ethnic public holiday in Suriname in 2015, was taken by the Suriname Ministry of the Interior, in consultation with Suriname Vice President, Robert Ameerali, and the Council of Ministers of Suriname.
