Late last night, the Minister of Labour of the government of Togo, John Siabi Kwamé-Kouma, announced that Friday, May 2, 2014, had been declared a one-off non-working public holiday throughout Togo.

As per the televised statement declaring Friday, May 2, 2014, a one-off non-working public holiday throughout Togo, this was done to allow workers to recuperate from the April 27 and May 1st public holidays ("permettre aux travailleurs bousculés par les fêtes du 27 avril et 1er mai, de se ressourcer avant d'entamer le travail le 5 mai").
