The Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers has issued a decision, once again extending the upcoming 2015 Novruz non-working public holidays in Azerbaijan to 9 consecutive days of non-working public holidays in Azerbaijan.
As was done on past occasions (2014-02-16, 2013-02-14, 2012-02-21, 2011-02-23 and 2010-02-16), the annual, March 20-24, Novruz public holidays, already extended by 2 days, will now be extended by a further day of non-working public holiday in Azerbaijan, namely Friday, March 27, 2015. This means a consecutive period of 9 days of public holidays from March 20, until Saturday, March 28, 2015, as Sunday, March 29, 2015, was declared as a regular working day in Azerbaijan to compensate the declaration of Friday, March 27, 2015, as a one-off non-working public holiday in Azerbaijan.
These day in lieu public holiday are in line with the provisions of Article 105 of the Labor Code of Azerbaijan (2005-12-30), and are in addition to the official list of annual non-working public holidays in Azerbaijan for the calendar year 2015, as announced last autumn (2014-11-25).
