Azerbaijan June 12 Public Holiday Dropped

Source: Milli Mejlis of the Azerbaijan Republic (Baku)

The bill, sent to the parliament of Azerbaijan (Milli Mejlis) by Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev, and which would have declared June 12, 2015, the opening day of the first European Games, as a one off non-working public holiday in Azerbaijan, has been removed from the parliamentary agenda of the Milli Mejlis.

Earlier this week (2015-05-11), it had been reported that Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev, had submitted a bill to the parliament of Azerbaijan (Milli Mejlis) which would have declared June 12, 2015, the opening day of the first European Games, as a one off non-working public holiday in Azerbaijan.

If the aforementioned bill, to declare June 12, 2015, as a one off non-working public holiday in Azerbaijan, had been approved, then the one-off non-working public holiday of June 12, 2015, would have been in addition to the list of the annual non-working public holidays in Azerbaijan for the calendar year 2015, as announced by Azerbaijan's Cabinet of Ministers, late last year (2014-11-25).
