The Council of Ministers of Belarus has approved the annual list of official non-working public holidays in Belarus in the calendar year 2016, and released the details thereof in the "Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus No. 976".
Earlier this month (2015-11-13), the government of Belarus, via its First Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Security, Andrew Lobovich, had announced that it had finalized its annual list of official public holidays in Belarus for the upcoming calendar year 2016, without any further details.
The aforementioned Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus No. 976 ("In accordance with the sixth part of Article 136 of the Labor Code of the Republic of Belarus Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus has decided to move the working days in 2016") confirms the official public holidays in Belarus for the upcoming calendar year 2016, and for the 4th consecutive year (2014-11-12, 2013-12-02 and 2012-12-01), lists one-off bridge and day in lieu public holidays in Belarus for 2016, before the beginning of the year, rather than on a case-by-case basis as was the case in previous years (2012-06-03, 2012-04-09, 2012-03-01, and 2011-12-29), though last-minute changes are always possible (2014-12-17).
