Bulgarian 2016 Public Holidays Announced

The Bulgarian Council of Ministers has released its annual list of regular non-working public holidays and annual one-off bridge public holidays in Bulgaria for the calendar year 2016.

As per the aforementioned announcement (Decision on the reversal of the holidays in 2016), there will be four one-off bridge public holidays in Bulgaria during the calendar year 2016.

As is customary, (2014-11-05, 2013-11-14, 2012-11-15, 2011-11-17, 2010-12-16, 2009-12-16, 2009-09-10 and 2009-02-19), these additional non-working public holidays will be compensated by the declaration of the same number of working Saturdays, and, this year, additionally, the government of Bulgaria stressed in its announcement that the 2016 one-off bridge public holidays in Bulgaria would be each compensated by a working Saturday in the same month, so that the number of working days in a month would not change.
