Chad's Ministre de la Fonction Publique et du Travail has issued a communiqué declaring Tuesday, August 11, 2015, as the date of the 55ème Anniversaire de l'indépendance, and a nationwide non-working public holiday in Chad ("déclarée fériée, chômée et payée sur l'ensemble du territoire nationale"), but has stressed that Wednesday, August 12, 2015, would not be an additional non-working public holiday in Chad ("La journée du 12 août est déclarée ouvrable").

The aforementioned communiqué from Chad's Ministre de la Fonction Publique et du Travail, that Tuesday, August 11, 2015, would be a nationwide non-working public holiday in Chad, but that Wednesday, August 12, 2015, would not be an additional non-working public holiday in Chad, was probably deemed necessary as the Chad Independence Day holiday was moved from August to January for a few years (2011-08-10, 2010-11-08, 2010-08-10 and 2010-07-05), and was often accompanied by a second day of non-working public holiday in Chad, on August 12 or January 12 (2010-11-08 and 2009-12-31).
