The supervisory body in charge of the banking sector in Guatemala (the Superintendencia de Bancos de Guatemala) has announced that, in line with, the upcoming annual "Día de la Raza" bank holiday of Guatemala would be observed on Monday, October 12, 2015.
As usual (2013-12-18, 2012-12-21 and 2011-12-14), the aforementioned announcement ("las agencias bancarias y otras compañías relacionadas con casas bancarias, sociedades y de seguros tienen autorizado permanecer cerradas") is in line with the revised list of annual bank holidays in Guatemala and afferent rules thereto, as announced 6 years ago (2009-12-17) in the "Reglamento de Asuetos de las Instituciones Bancarias que operan en la República (Resolución JM-129-2009)", which lists afternoon banks-only public holidays as well as some Monday banks-only public holidays in Guatemala when an annual non-working public holiday falls on the weekend, and amended itself a year later (2010-12-20), as well as with the list of official bank holidays for the calendar year 2015 in Guatemala released late last year (2014-12-22).
