The government of Guyana has issued a "Notification Under The Public Holidays Act (CAP. 19:07)" in the Official Gazette (extraordinary) Of Guyana, whereby Thursday, September 24, 2015, is gazetted as an official non-working public holiday in Guyana on account of the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha annual non-working public holiday of Guyana.
Last-minute announcements of the date of the Youmun Nabi public holiday are a staple of Guyana life (2013-01-21, 2012-02-01, 2011-02-14, 2010-02-18, 2009-03-01, 2007-03-22, 2006-04-01 and 2005-04-12), and announcements for the date of the Deepavali non-working public holiday are less frequent (2015-10-19 and 2011-10-22), though last-minute announcements of the dates for the Eid-ul-Adha annual non-working public holiday of Guyana are less frequent, usually having been set beforehand, namely in this case in the initially released list of non-working 2015 public holidays in Guyana (2014-11-07).
