The government of Kazakhstan, via its Ministry of Health and Social Development, has finally ruled-out the still-undecided move of the upcoming non-working day of Monday, May 11, 2015, declared to compensate the annual Victory Day public holiday of Kazakhstan falling on a weekend in 2015, to Friday, May 8, 2015.
Earlier this month (2015-04-05), the government of Kazakhstan had announced that Monday, May 11, 2015, had been declared a day in lieu non-working public holiday in Kazakhstan to compensate the annual Victory Day public holiday of Kazakhstan (2015-01-17) falling on a weekend in 2015.
Today's announcement follows from the 2001 amended version of Kazakhstan's Labour Code and the Law on Holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan (2001-12-14) which states that "the days of the national and state holidays are non-working days" and that "in case of coincidence of a day off and a holiday, a day off will be the next day following the holiday", with the Ministry stressing the "next" of the law's text.
