The Association of Banks in Lebanon has announced that the upcoming Hegire (Islamic New Year) bank holiday for all banks and financial institutions of Lebanon, including the Beirut Stock Exchange and the Central Bank of Lebanon, had been modified and would now be observed on Saturday, October 24, 2015.
The aforementioned announcement is in line with the recent announcement by the Government of Lebanon (2015-10-16) that it had changed the date of the upcoming annual non-working public holiday in Lebanon for Ashura, which would now be observed on Saturday, October 24, 2015, thus amending the list of official Lebanese non-working public holidays for the calendar year 2015 which was released at the end of last year (2014-11-30).
