The President of Liberia, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, has issued a proclamation declaring Sunday, March 15, 2015, as a non-working public holiday to be observed throughout the Republic of Liberia as a national non-working public holiday marking the 206th Birth Anniversary of Liberia's first President Joseph Jenkins Roberts.

In addition, as March 15 falls on a Sunday, in 2015, "the 206th birth anniversary of former President Joseph Jenkins Roberts as a National Holiday is to be observed Monday, March 16, 2015.".

The aforementioned J.J. Roberts public holiday was set aside as an annual non-working public holiday by an Act passed by the Third Session of the 42nd National Legislature of the Republic of Liberia.

Such last-minute re-confirmation of annual public holidays are a staple of the Liberian public holidays calendar (2015-02-10, 2014-02-09, 2014-07-23, 2013-05-13, 2013-04-05, 2013-03-13, 2012-11-27, 2012-10-31, 2012-07-23, 2011-11-01, 2011-04-06, 2010-11-03, 2010-07-23 and 2010-04-08).
