The MAM (Moslems Association of Malawi) has announced that the date of the upcoming Eid-el-Fitri (End of Ramadan) non-working public holiday in Malawi had been declared as Saturday, July 18, 2015.
In addition, Malawi's Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development spokesperson, Mulhabase Mughogho, has announced that Malawi President, Peter Mutharika, has declared Monday, July 20, 2015, as a day in lieu non-working public holiday to compensate the fact that this year's Eid-el-Fitri (End of Ramadan) non-working public holiday in Malawi had been declared on a Saturday.
For years, the MAM (Moslems Association of Malawi) has been calling on the Government of Malaei to also declare Eid-ul-Qurban and the day for the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, as official public holidays in Malawi (2007-07-07).
