Following tonight's surprise announcement of a change in the date of the upcoming Eid al Adha by Saudi Arabia, the Minister of Interior of the Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that the Nigerian Government had decided to move the date of the upcoming Eid al Adha in Nigeria to September 24, as well.

As we had mentioned last year (2014-09-27, 2013-10-12, 2013-10-11 and 2012-10-22), after a one-year relapse (2012-08-13), the Nigerian Government seemed to have abandoned its previous practice of following the Libyan Muslim calendar (2007-09-14), and today's lockstep reaction to the Saudi announcement (2015-09-13) is proof of that.
