Omani authorities have announced the dates of the upcoming Eid al Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) annual non-working public holidays for the private sector and the public sector, for the calendar year 2015.

As per a decision by Oman's Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court and Chairman of the Civil Service Council, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, the Eid al Adha public sector holidays for employees at ministries, public authorities and other government departments will run from Wednesday, September 23 until Saturday, September 26, 2016, inclusively.

The announced period of only 4 days for the upcoming Eid al Adha non-working public holidays in Oman is in stark contrast to previous years when week long extensions of the Eid public sector holidays were common (2014-09-25, 2014-07-21, 2013-10-10, 2013-08-08, 2012-10-20, 2011-10-31, 2011-08-24, 2010-09-06 and 2009-09-17).

In a separate announcement, Oman's Minister of Manpower, Shaikh Abdullah bin Nasser al Bakri, issued a ministerial decision stating that the upcoming private sector, non-working, Eid al Adha public holidays would also run from Wednesday, September 23 until Saturday, September 26, 2016, inclusively.
