The President of Paraguay, Horacio Cartes, has signed the "Decreto número 4582" which, once again, declares 2 year-end one-off non-working public holidays in Paraguay for the public sector ("para los empleados de la Administración Pública y Entidades Descentralizadas").

The aforementioned declaration of the afternoon of December 24, and the entire day of December 31, 2014, as one off public sector holidays ("declaró asueto para el día 24 de diciembre de 2015 a partir de las 12:00 horas y el 31 de diciembre de 2015 durante todo el día") is in addition to the list of annual non-working public holiday in Paraguay for the calendar year 2015 as announced last year (2014-12-18 and 2014-12-07), and is similar to what was done last year (2014-12-22), when President Cartes signed the "Decreto número 2808" declaring 2 year-end one-off non-working public holidays in Paraguay for the public sector on the afternoon of December 24, and the entire day of December 31, 2014, in addition to the list of annual non-working public holiday in Paraguay for the calendar year 2014 as it had earlier been announced (2014-01-10).

Paraguay's public servants have often benefited from one-off public holidays in the past, most commonly for Holy Wednesday (2015-03-20, 2014-04-11, 2013-03-16, 2012-04-03, 2011-04-18, 2010-03-30 and 2009-04-06), and for the year-end (2014-12-22, 2012-12-07, 2011-12-19, 2010-12-23 and 2009-12-23).
