The government of Suriname has confirmed that the upcoming "Ied Ul Adha" (Feast of Sacrifice) annual non-working public holiday in Suriname would be observed on Thursday, September 24, 2015, a date which has been declared a non-working public holiday in Suriname.
The aforementioned announcement ("deze dag op donderdag 24 september valt en met de zondag is gelijkgesteld") that Thursday, September 24, 2015, has been declared a non-working public holiday in Suriname represents a one day shift from the list of expected Suriname public holidays dates for the calendar year 2015, released at the beginning of last year (2014-02-12), and then later amended (2014-03-17), which listed Wednesday, September 23, 2015, as the expected date for the "Ied Ul Adha" (Feast of Sacrifice) public holiday in Suriname.
