The government of Timor Leste has announced that it had once again decided to declare 2 additional year-end public sector holidays ("Toleránsia Pontu ba loron 24, parte loraik, no 31, durante loron tomak"), this time on December 24 and 31, 2015.
As usual (2014-12-22, 2013-12-13, 2012-12-20, 2012-11-26, 2012-10-29, 2012-07-07, 2012-07-03 and 2012-04-04), the Secretariat of State of the Council of Ministers of Timor Leste, states that the aforementioned decision is based on law No.10/2005, which overhauled Timor Leste's public holidays (2005-08-12).
The aforementioned additional public holidays in Timor Leste on the afternoon of December 24, and the entire day of the 31st of December, 2015, apply to "all employees and agents of the ministries or their dependent services, as well as to the institutes and integrated indirect administration bodies of the State" and are justified as the decision was made "taking into account the family festivities celebrated in this festive season, and which is traditionally dedicated to the reunion of all its members, marked with celebrations and religious ceremonies".
