Zimbabwe March 8 Public Holiday Bill

(Posted on Monday, March 16, 2015)

Source: The Parliament of Zimbabwe (Harare)

Zimbabwe's MP Ms. Khupe has introduced a bill into the Parliament of Zimbabwe to have International Women's Day declared as a new annual non-working public holiday in Zimbabwe.

Unfortunately, reading the Hansard transcript of the March 3, 2015, parliamentary proceedings, the introduction of the aforementioned bill seems to have been followed only by lofty speeches and acrimonious bickering.
