Armenian March 1st Public Holiday Bill

Source: Armenian News Agency (ARMENPRESS)
Posted: Tuesday, March 1, 2016

A bill has been introduced to the Armenian Parliament by the Armenian National Congress (ANC) NA faction's secretary Aram Manukyan, proposing to make March 1st a new annual non-working public holiday in Armenia or, failing that, a new observance holiday in Armenia.

According to government sources, the aforementioned bill, as was the case on previous occasions, either as an additional non-working public holiday in Armenia (2012-03-17 and 2011-12-04), or as a replacement for the annual March 8 non-working public holiday in Armenia (2001-04-27), is unlikely to garner much support.
