Bahamas 2016 Public Holidays Announced

Source: The Government of the Bahamas (Nassau)

The Government of the Bahamas has released its annual official list of the non-working public holidays in the Bahamas, for the calendar year 2016.

After years when this was not the case (2013-01-21, 2012-01-16 and 2011-01-11), the aforementioned official list of the Bahamas non-working public holidays for the calendar year 2016, now, as was the case more recently (2014-12-29 and 2013-12-10), uses the public holiday name National Heroes' Day instead of Discovery Day, as per the provisions of the National Heroes Bill and the National Honours Bill, which were approved by both houses of Parliament, almost a decade ago (2007-03-30).

It also lists the, recently declared (2014-01-03, 2013-10-11, 2013-05-06, 2013-05-02 and 2013-01-09), Majority Rule Day new annual public holiday in the Bahamas.

Note that there are quite a few errors in the list of the non-working public holidays in the Bahamas, for the calendar year 2016, as it currently appears online on the Official Website of the Government of The Bahamas.
