Bangladesh's Cabinet Secretary, Mohammad Shafiul Alam, has announced that, at Monday's Cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, after consulting the Bangla Academy, the Religious Affairs Ministry and the Weather Department, the annual list of official non-working public holidays in Bangladesh for the upcoming calendar year 2017, was approved.
Contrary to last year (2015-10-02), when a draft of the list of proposed Bangladesh 2016 public holidays was circulated the month prior to the official announcement of the list of the Bangladesh 2016 public holidays (2015-11-02), this year's official non-working public holidays in Bangladesh for the upcoming calendar year 2017, came with no public consultation, and quite late as well.
After today's cabinet approval, the public administration ministry will issue a gazetted list of the annual list of official non-working public holidays in Bangladesh for the upcoming calendar year 2017, as per custom (2014-11-03, 2013-11-15, 2012-11-30,...).
