Bolivia's Minister of Labour has issued the "comunicado 27/2016" which confirms that the upcoming Corpus Christi annual non-working public holiday of Bolivia would be observed on Thursday, May 26, 2016, in all sectors of the Bolivian economy.
As per the aforementioned announcement, contained in the "comunicado 27/2016" in line with the "Decreto Supremo 2750 del 1 de mayo de 2016", this public holiday will be a non-working public holiday for both the public and private sectors ("El Ministerio de Trabajo recordó que el jueves 26 de mayo es feriado nacional en Bolivia por Corpus Christi"). The Bolivian Corpus Christi annual public holiday has been rumored to be on the way out in the past (2009-04-08 and 2007-06-06), but keeps on being reaffirmed every year (2015-06-02, 2014-06-17, 2013-05-29, 2012-06-05, 2011-06-06, 2010-01-29 and 2009-06-09).
In addition, Friday, May 27, 2016, will be a half-day sectorial public holiday in Bolivia for mothers in both the private and public sectors ("El Ministerio de Trabajo dispuso para el viernes 27 de mayo, tolerancia de medio día para las madres de familia, tanto de las instituciones públicas como privadas a partir de las 12.30, con motivo del Día de la Madre").
