Jordan's Prime Minister, Abdullah Ensour, has announced that this year's annual International Labor Day non-working public holiday of Jordan would be observed on its traditional date of May 1st, and would not be moved to another date as has sometimes been the case in recent years.
The aforementioned announcement that this year's annual International Labor Day non-working public holiday of Jordan would be observed on its traditional date of May 1st, is in line with a recent announcement by the Bank of Jordan (2016-04-23), and with the previously-released, list of annual non-working bank holidays and public holidays in Jordan for the calendar year 2016, as announced last autumn (2015-10-22), although the Jordanian government often (2015-04-22, 2013-04-19, 2013-01-17, 2012-04-24 and 2006-04-25), though not systematically (2014-04-28, 2010-04-27 and 2005-04-25), moves mid-week public holidays to the nearest weekend, in particular the Labour Day non-working public holiday.
