The government of Kazakhstan has released an amended and expanded version of its previously-released annual official list of non-working public holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the calendar year 2016.

Earlier this year (2016-01-13), the government of Kazakhstan released its annual official list of non-working public holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the calendar year 2016, but as was the case the previous year (2015-01-17), that aforementioned announcement of the official list of non-working public holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the calendar year 2016 did not confirm the days in lieu public holidays that will be declared in 2016 to compensate the 2016 Kazakhstan public holidays that fall on a weekend.

The cancellation of the October 25 public holiday, officialized 7 years ago (2009-04-25 and 2009-03-04) is re-confirmed, and the new, May 7, Homeland Defender Day, annual non-working public holiday in Kazakhstan (2012-10-19) is also confirmed, with an interesting twist due to it falling on a Saturday in 2016.
