The government of Kazakhstan has announced that Monday, May 10, 2016, had been declared a day in lieu non-working public holiday in Kazakhstan to compensate the annual Victory Day public holiday of Kazakhstan falling on a Sunday in 2016.
This announcement, as did preceding ones (2015-04-05), follows from the 2001 amended version of Kazakhstan's Labour Code and the Law on Holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan (2001-12-14) which states that "the days of the national and state holidays are non-working days" and that "in case of coincidence of a day off and a holiday, a day off will be the next day following the holiday", and is in line with the annual official list of non-working public holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the calendar year 2016, as released in early January (2016-01-13), and amended earlier this month (2016-03-03), by the government of Kazakhstan.
