Moldova's Parliament has voted the recent bill, introduced by Liberal MP, Alina Zotea, that would make June 1st, International Children's Day, a new annual non-working public holiday in Moldova, beginning this year.

For the aforementioned law declaring International Children's Day, a new annual non-working public holiday in Moldova, beginning on June 1st of this year, to take effect this year, it will need to be transcribed into the Moldovan Labour Code before next Wednesday.

If the law declaring International Children's Day, a new annual non-working public holiday in Moldova, was transcribed into the Moldovan Labour Code before next Wednesday, then it would amend list of the annual non-working 2016 public holidays in in Moldova ("cu privire la zilele de odihna în anul 2016" and the later "Cu privire la transferul zilei de odihnă în anul 2016"), released last fall (2015-10-26) by the government of Moldova, and which was then completed (2015-12-28 and 2015-12-16).

The last time a new annual non-working public holiday was added to the list of annual public holidays in Moldova, was 3 year ago (2013-12-19), when a bill introduced by the government of Moldova, to declare Western Christmas as an annual non-working public holiday in Moldova, was passed by a majority of legislators from the then current ruling coalition. Western Christmas had been decreed as a one-off non-working public holiday in Moldova, for the first time 4 years before (2009-12-04), and at that time, Moldova's Prime Minister, Vladimir Filat, had announced that his government would introduce legislation to make December 25 an annual public holiday, starting the following year ("începând cu 2010, ziua de 25 decembrie va fi declarata sarbatoare oficiala").
