The Cabinet of the Government of Mongolia has announced that the upcoming Naadam 2016 non-working public holidays in Mongolia would run from July 9-17, 2016.

The Naadam non-working public holidays in Mongolia, originally lasting 3 days, were first extended by 2 days as a one-off event by the declaration of Thursday and Friday, July 14 and 15, 2011, as one-off non-working public holidays in Mongolia, to link the Naadam annual public holidays with the subsequent weekend (2011-06-30).

The extension of the annual Naadam non-working public holidays in Mongolia from 3 to 5 days was then made permanent, a few years later, when the Parliament of Mongolia approved amendments to the Law on Celebrating Public Festivals and Memorable Days which added July 14 and 15 as additional annual non-working public holidays in Mongolia (2014-07-01).

A few months ago (2016-03-06), the Cabinet of the Government of Mongolia had announced that the upcoming Naadam 2016 non-working public holidays in Mongolia might be shifted due to the conflict of the 2016 Naadam non-working public holidays in Mongolia with the upcoming 11th ASEM Summit, as had been done on some past occasions (2008-06-06).
